Art Curriculum
The District 34 art curriculum is organized around the Illinois State Goals and Standards. These goals involve understanding the elements and principles of art, use and knowledge of tools and processes in the production of art, and the understanding of the role that art plays in civilizations past and present. Art concepts, tools, and processes are sequenced to build skills and knowledge relative to the children’s developmental needs.

Art Club
Art Club is an extra-curricular activity offered to 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students. It meets after school on Tuesdays until 4:00pm. Sign-up is in the fall. The 2005-2006 school year’s mini-sessions included Drawing from Observation, Creating with Clay, Figure Drawing and Sculpture, and Painting. Each mini-class lasts for 5-6 weeks. There is a small material fee for each class.
