Meet the Principal

Welcome to Glen Grove School!
Glen Grove School is a grade level center serving approximately 500 students in grades three through five. This dynamic community of learners also includes 75 outstanding staff members and more than 300 families. Our children are enthusiastic learners who are engaged in the fundamentals of reading, writing, and mathematics as well as the fine arts of physical education, art, drama, and music.  Through our 1:1 iPad initiative, children are honing the digital literacy needed to develop their critical thinking and communication skills, their creativity, and collaboration. We are committed to cultivating the skills, habits, and attitudes that are essential for success in the 21st Century.
I am currently in my ninth year as the principal of Glen Grove. I came to Glenview District 34 from District 15 in Glendale Heights where I was an assistant principal at Marquardt Middle School for two years and the principal of Reskin Elementary, a kindergarten through 5th grade building, for three years. Prior to that, I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the eleven years I spent teaching reading and writing to my 8th graders at River Trails Middle School in Mt. Prospect.
My twenty-plus years of experience as an educator at all levels have helped me gain a comprehensive appreciation for the scope of student learning making the bridge between the early learners of the primary grades and the emerging adolescents of middle school – what we call, the intermediate level - a perfect fit for me. When I’m not busy being the principal of Glen Grove School, I enjoy spending time with my wonderful family that includes three adorable grandchildren, reading, reading, and reading some more, and traveling, especially to my favorite part of the world, Greece, to visit with family and friends.
I am so honored to be the principal of Glen Grove School and a part of our students’ intermediate experience! My hope is that our students will LOVE their time at Glen Grove. While in our charge, they will feel connected to the adults in our building – teachers, principal, office staff, custodians, & kitchen ladies, alike -  and to their classmates and peers. They will feel safe, supported and cared for. They will feel smart and capable of learning. Academic achievement is a priority for every school, including Glen Grove; however, by keeping the purposeful cultivation of a strong sense of community founded on respectful, supportive relationships at the forefront of all we do, I believe we are setting our students up for a most positive school experience and even greater successes, both social-emotionally and academically.
