Rosh Hashanah Vocabulary
Shanah Tovah- a greeting used for Rosh Hashanah. It means “May it be a good year”

Shofar- a horn (usually made from a ram’s horn) used during Jewish ceremonies and especially on Rosh Hashanah
Challah- a type of bread. Round challah may be served to symbolize the cycle of the new year
Tashlikh- some perform this ritual of praying near running water as part of Rosh Hashanah. It symbolizes the casting off of bad things
