Swedish Midsommar Vocabulary

Maypole (majstång or midsommarstång) - a decorated wooden pole used as decoration for various folk celebrations; in the case of Swedish Midsummer, people dance around the pole.

Smörgåsbord -  a Scandinavian buffet of various meats, sandwiches, and hordevours 

7 flowers- it is believed that if a girl picks 7 different flowers in silence and places the flowers under her pillow before bed on Midsummer Eve, she will dream of her future husband
