White Moon Festival- Tsagaan Sar is also called “The White Moon Festival”

Bituun- the day before Tsagaan Sar; it is a day of preparation for the festivities (people often clean)

Khadag- a silk scarf (usually blue) held by families during the greeting ceremony

Dairy Products/White Food- white food is usually served during Tsagaan Sar, often made of dairy products

Ul Boov- “Shoe cake,” is a layered cake served with cream that is usually the centerpiece of Mongolian celebrations
