What is Nowruz?
Date: begins on the Spring equinox and is celebrated for 13 days; marks the beginning of Farvardin, the first month of the Iranian calendar
Location: all over the world by the Persian community and various regions across eastern Europe & western Asia
Otherwise known as Persian New Year, Nowruz is celebrated by a variety of regions and religions across eastern Europe and Western/Central Asia and is one of the oldest known holidays. It is celebrated with families gathering together, cleaning homes, and sitting around a specially decorated table.
