What is Onam?
Date: 22nd nakshatra Thiruvonam in Chingam in the Malayalam calendar (usually late August, early September)
Location: In the Indian state of Kerala by the Malayali people
Onam is a harvest festival celebrating the legend of King Mahabali, a noble ruler of Hindu legend. Onam is also celebrated with a boat race called Vallam Kali.
