What is Purim?
Dates: 14th Day of Adar (which changes every year)
Location: all over the world by the Jewish community
Also called the “Festival of Lots,” it is a Jewish holiday commemorating when the Jewish people were saved from Haman as told from the Book of Esther. They celebrate by:
- Listen to a public reading of the Book of Esther
- Send food and gifts to friends
- Give charity to the poor
- Eating a festival meal
